Dear Idiots,

Why do so many people want to kill babies and harvest their parts?

I read a post over at Boing Boing pointing to an article concerning a new treatment for type 1 diabetes using stem cells. I admit that I might be reading too much into the post (the editor who posted it made no comment at all), but knowing the political slant of the Boing Boing editors, I am assuming that they chose to link to the article because they support stem cell research... the embryonic kind. After all, I see no mention in the post that ADULT stem cells were used in the treatment. In fact, the stem cells came directly from the patients themselves:

"In a breakthrough trial, 15 young patients with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes were given drugs to suppress their immune systems followed by transfusions of stem cells drawn from their own blood."

And yet despite the fact that it's mentioned clearly in the article, the article itself harps on about stem cell controversy. The only controversy is over embryonic stem cells, which weren't used in this treatment. I have yet to read about about a successful treatment using embryonic stem cells, while adult stem cells are used in well over 80 treatments today.

From the article:
"But research using the most versatile kind of stem cells — those acquired from human embryos — is currently opposed by powerful critics, including President Bush."

Wow, that doesn't sound biased at all. In an article showing that adult stem cells saved the day, they still complain about the supposedly "most versatile" stem cells not being utilized thanks to those darn Americans.

There is no excuse (save for ignorance) for so many people to be for embryonic stem cell research. Anyone who has studied this subject should know that embryonic stem cells seem to be a dead end. I don't understand why people want to kill babies so much. Seriously, if it wasn't for abortion, there would be no such thing as embryonic stem cell research (or at least there wouldn't be any controversy about it). It's been shown time and again that all stem cells are better than embryonic ones. All embryonic stem cells are good for is "potential", while adult stem cells are actually used for treatments. I've heard people say that embryonic stem cells haven't reached their potential because research is banned. Bullshit. It's not banned worldwide, and they do still have embryonic stem cells to research in the US. They don't need a fresh load of dead babies delivered daily to do the research.

Let me make this perfectly clear... even if embryonic stem cells were a miracle cure-all, I would still be against them. It is not right to murder children in order to cure other people. Luckily, however, embryonic stem cells just don't seem to work that well, and I thank God for that.

Dear Idiots: "Persistent Vegetative State"

Dear Idiots,

Remember Terri Schiavo? Of course you do. Whenever I remember her, I can't help but also remember all the other brain-dead people out there who were yet still managing to post on web sites all over the world, chanting "KILL HER! SHE'S BRAIN DEAD! SHE'S A VEGETABLE!". Hundreds of thousands of morons who can't follow this simple reasoning: if in doubt, choose life.

And there was doubt. There were many so-called experts across America saying there's no chance for her to recover, but there were many other experts saying the exact opposite. However, it doesn't matter if every expert in the world agreed that there was no hope for her, because they were wrong, and I have undisputable proof of this.

Recently my grandmother was in a coma for about a month. During this coma, she was "brain dead". Do a search for "brain dead" and you'll come up with all sorts of things written by idiots who think they know what they're talking about.

My grandmother is no longer in a coma. She's fully functioning after being declared brain dead. Surprising? It gets better. She was fully aware while the doctor was standing next to her, telling her husband that she is for all intents and purposes dead, and that her organs should be harvested. She heard him saying these things. He wanted the husband to let her die... in other words, and I'm being literal here, the doctor wanted to murder her and harvest her organs for money. You can candy coat it all you want, but that's the simple truth.

Her husband refused, thankfully. Some time later, she woke up, but was unable to speak. This is "PVS", or a "Persistent Vegetative State". It was around this time that my dad called me to let me know what was going on. I'd recently read about a new miracle drug, or rather, a drug with a newly discovered miracle use: to wake coma and PVS victims, and to repair stroke victims. I relayed this information to him, hoping they would administer this miracle drug. Its name? Ambien (AKA Zolpidem). That's right, the sleeping pill.

The information was given to my stepmom's aunt, who decided to ask the doctors to administer this drug to my grandmother. A half-hour later she woke completely and had some harsh words for the doctor (who you'll remember wanted to murder her and harvest her organs... I can't stress this enough).

Let me summarize this for you. My grandmother was "brain dead". The doctor wanted to pull her off life support, just like Terri Schiavo... which means starving or dehydrating her to death, I.E. (here we go one more time) he wanted to murder her and harvest her organs. As a last chance step, she was given Ambien and woke up completely. She was fully aware the doctor wanted to murder her during her coma. Do you think it's possible that Terri Schiavo was aware that she was being murdered? She may well have been.

All you geniuses who were calling for the death of Terri Schiavo were literally calling for her murder. You should be ashamed, but you likely won't be because you couldn't possibly be wrong about something, could you? I feel especially awful for all the people who have decided to let doctors murder their own loved ones. As far as I'm concerned, the victims' blood is not only only on the hands of the doctors, but is on the hands of the family members who blindly trusted the medical community and decided to go along with it.

Listen, dear idiots... you don't know everything. In fact, chances are, you know almost nothing beyond what you experience in your day-to-day lives. You cannot believe something adamantly just because someone else told you to (in this case, it was the medical community who told you to believe this "brain dead = dead 4 REALZ" bullshit). Doctors are humans. They make mistakes. They are stupid just like you.

Try a little thinking. It's not supposed to hurt. Remember... "When in doubt, choose life".

Welcome, Dear Idiots

Dear Idiots,

Welcome! I've created this blog because I'm sick to death of idiots who hold dear to ridiculous beliefs, many of which have been proven wrong but are still widely held. I will be discussing atheism, abortion, coma patients, and all the other hot topics of the day that so many people argue over without using any actual facts. I come to my conclusions mostly by reason. If you have a problem with reason (atheists, looking at you), this site will piss you off. And that's good, because I want to piss you off. Maybe I can jump-start a few brains while I'm at it.

All of the posts on this blog that deal with a major issue I want to set the record straight on will start with "Dear Idiots". This is considered an open letter to all those devoid of simple reasoning skills who believe opposite of the (many times) obvious truth.

Have at you!
